At CVS you are allowed to use a Buy 1 Get 1 Free coupon with a Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale and get both items for FREE! Here's a response from CVS corporate if you'd like to print it off and take it with you! I personally have not had an issue with using a BOGO Free coupon with a sale but I know a few of you that have had issues.
Dear Valued CVS Customer,
Thank you for contacting CVS/pharmacy. We appreciate the time you took to contact us with your inquiry.
In the case where a particular item is on sale for “buy one get one free” (BOGO), you are only allowed to use one
manufacturer’s coupon. For instance, if Revlon lipstick is on sale for BOGO, you can use one manufacturer’s BOGO
coupon. You would get both items free & pay any applicable tax. The Store Manager can limit quantities.
Again, thank you for contacting us. We value your business and look forward to serving you in the future.
Sincerely,
Jennifer

Here is also a link where CVS confirms this via Twitter. I would recommend printing these off just to have them with you in case a cashier doesn't want to allow you to use the Buy 1 Get 1 Free coupon along with their sale!
