So here's Walgreens~indepth!

As I mentioned Walgreens (Wags) is a great store to go in order to get items for really cheap or Free. Walgreens does have a few quirks and I personally like CVS much better, but when there's a great deal, I will go to Walgreens.

Walgreens has specials in their ad and many times you'll see that if you buy a certain item you will get xx amount in RR (RR are register rewards, it's a coupon that is printed after you pay.) The trick with walgreens is that you

(1) CANNOT have more coupons than items that you're buying,

(2) CANNOT roll the same coupon that you just received and continue to buy the same item. If you buy for example the above 2 cookies packs and get a $2 coupon, you CANNOT buy 2 more cookies and use that $2 cookies coupon you just received if you try to do this another $2 coupon will NOT print. So you're always trying to find 2 different items to bounce between if that makes sense.

(3) Your Items being purchased must exceed the amount of your Register Rewards coupon which is why many times you're forced to buy a filler item like the Christmas bag in the above picture

(4) You may buy the above 2 packs of cookies and then find something else that also gives register rewards and then buy that item. After you buy that item you can then go back and buy the 2 packs of cookies again.
(Please let me know if I'm not making sense...it took me awhile to learn the system and I don't know that I've explained it very well!)

So I ran yesterday and here's what I bought:
2 packs of nabisco cookies $.99 each ($1.98)
1 Christmas Bag $.12
I had a register rewards from last week in the amount of $2 which is why I had to buy a filler item for $.12 otherwise I would be able to use my $2 Register Rewards Coupon!
Final Cost: $.11 + I received $2 back for buying 2 nabisco cookies

Here's was my second transaction
The Bayer Contour was $14.99, and you get $5 in Register Rewards when you buy it!
-I used the $30 coupon from the 10/25 rp (which the cashier adjusts to only $14.99) so this is FREE +plus you make $5 on it

3 Bayer Quick Release Tabs, it was the 20 count (I believe it works on the 10 count also) Buy 3 Bayer Quick Release and get $6 in Register Rewards.
-I used (3) $1.50 coupons from 10/25 rp

1 box of Kleenex $1.29 (I needed to buy another item as I had 4 items and 5 coupons if you count my Register Rewards coupon)

My total was $3.93, I used my $2 Register Rewards coupon from the first transaction and paid $1.93 and I received $11 back in Register Rewards ($5 from the Bayer Contour and $6 from the Bayer Quick Release!)

All in all I spent $2.04 in cash and I still have $11 to spend! For a profit of $8.96!!!

So now I have $11 to spend at Walgreens and I'm going to use the $6 on Diapers which hopefully I will post tomorrow!

I know that this is probably completely confusing...once you get the hang of it, it's not too bad! But trust me, you will make mistakes along the way, just don't give up! If you want to see a pro in the Walgreens department check her out here!
